WebAddress website design terms
Scope and quotes
- We’ll provide a written quote or proposal describing what’s included in the project, the price, and an
estimated timeframe.
- The quote covers the agreed scope only.
- Any new features, changes, or extra requests outside the quoted scope would incur additional fees.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
Staging Website
Where appropriate we will build a staging website on a temporary URL so you can review progress before launch.
The staging site will remain available
for up to 30 days after the project is completed. If you’d like us to keep the development site online for
longer, we can do so at our standard hosting rates.
The project will be considered complete once we’ve delivered the agreed work and addressed feedback from your revision rounds.
Revisions and feedback
Each project includes up to two rounds of revisions - or as agreed in your proposal - on the supplied design.
- Please group your feedback for each round into one clear email or document, so we can address
everything efficiently.
- The first round should focus on overall direction, layout, and major content.
- The second round should be limited to fine-tuning and minor adjustments.
- Extra revision rounds or major changes after approval may incur additional fees.
- If feedback is not received within 7 days of a design being supplied, the design will be
considered approved and the project will continue to the next stage.
Content population and templates
Where the website includes templates for products, services, or other repeatable items, we’ll set up the structure
and provide sample or placeholder content to show how it works.
Unless otherwise agreed in your proposal, you’re responsible for entering or uploading content for additional items
including text, images, descriptions, and other information into those templates.
If you’d like us to organise, source, re-format, or enter that content for you, we’re happy to help — it will simply be treated as
out-of-scope work and billed at our standard rates.
Out of scope (additional fees apply)
The following are not included in the quoted price unless specifically listed in your proposal:
- Adding or configuring more pages, items, or products than specified.
- Extra revisions and feedback rounds.
- Keyword research, SEO copywriting, or writing of meta tags (titles and descriptions).
- Proofreading or editing of text supplied by the client.
- Design or layout changes requested after mock-ups have been approved or build work has
started.
- Third-party costs such as stock photos, plugins, fonts, or software licences.
- Content population or updates beyond the agreed number of pages, products, or sections.
- Post-launch updates or maintenance not otherwise covered by a hosting or support plan with us.
We can carry out any out-of-scope work on request or when confirmed with you, billed at our standard rates.
Ownership and copyright
- Client materials: You must own or have permission to use all text, logos, and images you
supply and you indemnify us against any claim that results from the use of these materials.
- Our materials:
- Any stock images, code, templates, color palettes, font selections, illustrations, layouts, designs, or
plugins we supply remain our property or that of our licensors.
- We give you a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use our materials as part of your
finished website.
- Hosting platform and software: The server environment, CMS licences, and back-end management
systems remain our property. You may not copy or move the hosted site elsewhere without our written consent. If you stop hosting
with us, we can provide a static copy of your site for a reasonable fee, excluding any proprietary code or licences.
SEO, rankings and performance
We follow good SEO and performance practices but cannot guarantee any specific Google ranking or traffic result.
Confidentiality and privacy
- We treat all client information as confidential.
- We share details only with contractors who need them to complete your project.
Promotion
Unless agreed otherwise, we may display completed work in our portfolio or mention your business in marketing
materials. Confidential or white-label work will not be shared without prior approval.
We may include a small, discreet credit line in the website footer (for example, “Website by WebAddress”) with a link to our website. This helps show our work and doesn’t affect your site’s performance
or ranking. If you prefer not to display a credit line, just let us know — we can remove it for a one-off fee.
Warranties and liability
- We warrant that our work will be done with reasonable skill and care.
- To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us for the
relevant work.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or business interruption.
Pricing and payment
- Invoices are due within 30 days unless otherwise stated.
- Deposits must be paid before work begins.
- Final payment must be received before the completed website is made live or delivered.
- Unless stated otherwise in the quote, the deposit would be 50% of the design quote, with another 50% on completion.
- Accounts more than 60 days overdue may be referred to debt collection, with recovery costs
added.
- If not specified in the quote, our hourly rate is NZD 130/hour.
- We reserve the right to suspend work or hosting if invoices remain unpaid.
Cancellations and delays
- If we experience delays because required material (text, images, feedback, logins) isn’t provided, timelines
may shift.
- If a project is delayed, paused or canceled by you for more than 30 days, we may treat it as
canceled.
- Deposits and payments made are non-refundable.
- Restarting later may require a new quote or incur a restart fee.
- Project restart is subject to our schedule and availability.
General
- All prices exclude GST, if any.
- All prices are in NZD unless stated otherwise
- These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
- Any variation must be agreed in writing.
